New Staff Member joins PWWGNovember 1, 2007
Kelly Lockerman has joined PWWG as the Assistant to the Director of Business Development. Kelly holds degrees in Fashion Design, Accessory Design, and Graphic Design from Ashland University, The Fashion Institute of Technology, and The Art Institute of Pittsburgh respectively. Kelly is a painter as well as a designer. For the past several years she has worked for Pop Artist and Illustrator Burton Morris. In addition to her role in PWWG's business development, Kelly will provide graphic design and photography services for office projects.

Oglebay Hall RededicationSeptember 11, 2007
A ribbon cutting ceremony was celebrated on August 29, 2007 to rededicate a newly completed Oglebay Hall at West Virginia University. David Hardesty presided over the press conference in his last official appearance before retiring from his position as president of the university. The Forensics and Investigative Sciences classrooms and laboratories are within Oglebay Hall and classes began for the Fall semester on August 20, 2007.

New PHMC MasterplanSeptember 11, 2007
PWWG, in the firm's joint venture with Noble Preservation Services, will be responsible for the preparation of a new master facilities plan for the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania located in Strasburg, PA. The new plan will guide the long term development of the museum for the next 15 years. The Railroad Museum is the most visited of the PHMC museums and it contains an unparalleled collection of locomotives, rolling stock and artifacts from the Pennsylvania Railroad.

HOPE VI RedevelopmentAugust 8, 2007
PWWG has been selected to provide planning and design services for Phase II of 'Oak Hill'; the HOPE VI redevelopment of the former Allequippa Terrace housing project in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. Phase II will cover more than four city blocks and will provide 450 new dwellings in a mix of apartments, condominiums, townhouses and single family homes. Office space, community retail space, and a recreational center will also be incorporated into the development. Phase II is expected to begin construction in 2008.

Hotel Opened in West VirginiaAugust 8, 2007
The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites recently opened for business on June 7, 2007. The project located in Beckley, WV is a new ground-up 60,0000 S.F., 4-story wood-frame building, including 110 guestrooms, a full service bar and restaurant and an indoor pool and spa. The hotel is owned by Hospitality Lodging Investors, LP, of Pittsburgh, PA and was constructed by Kinsley Construction from York, PA.

Crescent Court Condos CompletedAugust 8, 2007
Construction of the new Crescent Court Condominiums was recently completed and residents took occupancy this past spring. The project is located in the Summerset at Frick Park, Pittsburgh, PA, a new traditional neighborhood, brownfield urban land reclamation development. The project consists of 36 for-sale condominiums including one, two and three bedroom plans, most include solariums. The building also includes a private, enclosed garage for 50 cars. Visitors enter the building through a lavishly landscaped courtyard and one of three private mahogany and glass entrance lobbies. The project was developed by Falbo / Pennrose Joint Venture, Pittsburgh, PA and was constructed by Mistick Construction, Pittsburgh, PA.

New Staff Member joins PWWGAugust 8, 2007
James Pasquarelli has joined PWWG as an Intern Architect. James is a recent graduate of Kent State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science as well a Bachelor of Architecture. James is interested in preservation and sustainability issues as they relate to the built environment.

PWWG transitions to REVITAugust 8, 2007
PWWG has begun the process of adopting BIM (building information modeling) with the purchase of Autodesk REVIT software. The first project to utilize REVIT will be the Penn State University Materials and Life Sciences II building which PWWG is working on in association with Rafael Viñoly Architects.
