LEED Accreditation for Staff MemberNovember 15, 2006
PWWG is pleased to announce that Marc Ford, Assoc. AIA has earned his LEED accreditation from the U.S. Green Building Council and the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program. The U.S. Green Building Council is the nation’s foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.
New Residential Project in ShadysideNovember 8, 2006
PWWG has begun the design of a 12-unit “loft style” apartment building for Franklin West, Inc. to be located at 521 Shady Avenue in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh. The project will consist entirely of one bedroom apartments featuring open plans, private terraces or balconies and off-street parking. Construction is expected to begin in March 2007.
PWWG Expands Participation in City OrganizationSeptember 29, 2006
Kevin Wagstaff, AIA, a Partner with PWWG, and Carl Bolton, Assoc. AIA have been elected to the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Their terms will begin in January of 2007.
Elmer Burger Joins PWWGAugust 17, 2006
We are pleased to announce that Elmer B. Burger II, AIA, LEED has joined the firm as a Senior Associate and the Director of Business Development. Elmer comes to us after spending the past 18 years serving as a vice president and project director at Astorino in Pittsburgh. During his time at Astorino he directed the highly acclaimed PNC Firstside Center in downtown Pittsburgh. Elmer also serves on the Board of AIA Pennsylvania and is on track to be the President of the organization in 2008.
New Staff MemberAugust 17, 2006
Dan Zhou has joined PWW+G as an intern architect. Dan received her Bachelor of Architecture at Shenyang Jianzhu University in China and in May of 2006 she received her Master of Science in Architecture from Texas Tech University.
West General Robinson Street Garage OpensAugust 17, 2006
The West General Robinson Street Garage had a "soft" opening on June 16, 2006. Situated in the North Shore area of Pittsburgh between two elevated highways and between PNC Park and Heinz Field, the facility will serve as an event garage for the sports venues, a daily commuting garage for downtown workers and parking for the expanding commercial district on the North Shore. The garage, owned by the Sports and Exhibition Authority was constructed by Mascaro Construction Company, LP and was completed on budget and slightly ahead of schedule, well in advance of Major League Baseball's All-Star Game, which was held in Pittsburgh on July 11.
